Thiruthurapoondi Thiruvenkatam Vivekananda Dhinakaran (TTV) was born on 13th December 1963 in Tiruthurapoondi, Tiruvarur district. Dhinakaran was born as the eldest of the three sons of the Vivekanandan-Vanithamani couple. In 1980, Dinakaran completed his high school from Finlay High School, Mannargudi.  After that, Chikmagalur AIT, University of Mysore, Karnataka State.  Dhinakaran, who studied B.E.C. Civil Engineering in college, dropped out midway. Dhinakaran married his own uncle Sundaravan's daughter Anuradha and had a daughter named Jayaharini.
 
POLITICAL JOURNEY:
 
Dhinakaran was given an opportunity to contest from Theni constituency in the 1998 Lok Sabha elections.  Dhinakaran won the first election he contested and became a Member of Parliament.
 
In the 2004 Lok Sabha elections, Dhinakaran contested again from Theni constituency and lost.   Dinakaran was made a Rajya Sabha member because of Jayalalitha's faith in Dinakaran. Dhinakaran was a Member of Parliament until 2010, served in various capacities as a member of the Defense Committee, a member of the Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Rural Development and a member of the Human Resource Development Committee.  Also in the party, she was the State Secretary of the ADMK Youth and Young Women's Congress and later the Treasurer.  in 2011, Jayalalitha removed the entire family including Sasikala and Dhinakaran from the party for various reasons.
 
After the death of Jayalalithaa, Sasikala was elected as the general secretary of ADMK.  Dhinakaran was elected Deputy General Secretary. Sasikala went to jail in a case of Asset Accumulation.  Later the party power was transferred to Edappadi Palaniswami and O. Panneerselvam.  Sasikala, Dhinakaran expelled from ADMK.
 
Dhinakaran, who contested the RK Nagar by-election held in December 2017 on a cooker symbol, became a member of the assembly by securing a landslide victory of 89,063 votes with a margin of about 40,707 votes over ADMK candidate Madhusudhana. Launched his New Political Party named “Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam” on 15 March 2018..
 
Dhinakaran's AMMK contested for the first time in the April 2019 parliamentary elections and by-elections.  All the constituencies contested by AMMK candidates lost.  In the local body election held at the end of December 2019, the AMMK contested alone.  In the elections held in 27 districts, AMMK candidates won 95 union councilor posts.
 
In the 2021 assembly elections, AMMK-DMDK alliance.  The alliance met with a crushing defeat.  TTV Dinakaran  contested in Kovilpatti, lost by a margin of 12 thousand 403 votes.
 
There are many complaints against TTV Dinakaran like foreign exchange fraud, tax evasion, illegal investment of money in foreign banks, illegal money transfer and corruption.
